Yesterday was another disappointing day for the VIPs. The Golden Skybridge was closed due to a fire. This may have been a blessing as it was absolutely pissing it down in Golden when I woke up ready for my first breakfast, although it would have been nice to have known so I could have had an extra hour of beauty sleep.

Here we are after a TH 2nd breakfast ready to hit the road heading towards Revelstoke. I’m reading the guide to see what is on the route today, although it seems things are getting closed by the hour.

The first stop was in Revelstoke so the humans could find a washroom, not sure why they couldn’t use a statue like me. We did find the π¨π¦ equivalent of Eddie the Eagle Edwards though and stocked up on ham and raspberries for me, before hitting the road again towards Nelson. The humans were super excited to see a π« on the road (not a Dana variety as she’s a π). Unfortunately the photography skills were somewhat lacking.

We had only just started when there was part of the road missing so had to drive on to a metal thing and float across where the road should have been. It did allow me to stretch my paws though. Alas when the car re-started, Google didn’t ,it was still “re-routing” for the next hour. Once back on the windy road the VIPs made sandwiches with my ham, although I am becoming a fan of cream cheese, ham and crisp sandwiches (for those reading in Simplified English, crisps are what you call chips, chips are what you call fries).

We finally made it to Kaslo after a close call in New Denver where the fires appeared to have jumped the lake and highway. Kaslo had a very good brewery called the Angry Hen, but alas there were no chicken fingers on the menu πΆπ
The final leg of the journey was to Nelson alongside the huge Lake Kootenay to Nelson. We’re stopping at another Prestige Inn. They get my vote as they are very welcoming to puppies. I was quite tired after all the travelling so after a stroll in the park, it was time for me to take over the VIPs bed and let the humans go off in search of πΊπ and the national dish of poutine (for the π¬π§ this is cheese, chips and gravy).
